Professor Weimin Li founded CFCC to give young people in China access to world-leading ideas and global learning opportunities. Inspired by his research abroad and the “Creative Class” concept, he built CFCC into a network connected to 50+ universities and leading scholars from Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford and USC. His vision continues to shape CFCC’s mission of helping students think creatively, collaborate globally and grow with confidence in a world without borders.
The CFCC Story
CFCC began with a simple belief: young people in China deserve access to the world’s best ideas. While researching abroad, Professor Weimin Li was inspired by the concept of the “Creative Class” - the idea that imagination, innovation, and global thinking shape the future.
He returned to China determined to build programmes that connected students with these ideas. What started as a small academic initiative quickly grew, attracting thousands of students eager for a more international, creative style of education.
Through a close partnership with Professor Alan Barrell in Cambridge, CFCC expanded into a truly global network, bringing together more than 50 respected scholars from Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford, USC, Peking University, and beyond. CFCC became more than a programme; it became a bridge between China and the world.
